Logistics Leaders Network (LLN) 15th Anniversary Lunch
Members of RLC Connect from both our military and our industry community were very kindly invited to attend the Logistics Leaders Network (LLN) 15th Anniversary Annual Lunch which took place in the Main Pavilion at the County Ground, Leicestershire County Cricket Club on Wednesday 26th of March 25.
This special Anniversary event consisted of a number of very interesting and informative presentations. Mr Elliott Kenton, Partner at Weightmans LLP gave an overview of the new Corporate Criminal Liability against Fraud legislation and other significant business risks. Mr George Fenton, Managing Director from the Humanitarian Logistics Association (HIA) presented on the future challenges of humanitarian logistics in a rapidly changing and dangerous world. After a very hearty lunch the final presentation was given by Dr David Sawday from the medical charity International Christian Medical and Dental Association (ICDMA) on humanitarian logistics in action through its partnership with the NHS to deliver much needed medical equipment to the front line in Ukraine. The latter two presentations gave a real insight by those who have been actively involved in key events or crises/disasters across the globe highlighting their own personal challenges whilst considering future challenges for logistics.
There is a full Logistics Leaders Network programme of events for 2025 here. However, one of our highlights and key events is the LLN Gala Dinner which will again take place takes place annually at St John’s Hotel, Solihull on Wednesday 29th October 2025. As a reminder, one of the category Awards is for the Military Logistician of the Year which is presented in memory of the late Lt Col Paul Holder who was the first active member of the Armed Forces to be Master of the Worshipful Company of Carmen, the City of London Livery Company for the transport industry. The Military Logistician of the Year Award is presented to the individual or team who has demonstrated outstanding leadership within the military logistics community. Further details will be sent out to units for submission of award nominations in early May.
Finally, our new member should also be aware that there is now a “Logistics on the Move” board game which can be purchased direct from the LLN Webpage whereby a full report will be published on our webpage once we have played the game, so wish us luck!
The Logistics Leaders Network was founded in 2010 by Peter Acton to provide a networking platform for senior and their emerging logistics leaders to understand, debate and share views on key strategic supply chain and logistics issues impacting on their business performance.
