EXERCISE LOG SAFARI

On Monday 22nd July 2024 corporate members of the Foundation visited the RLC Museum and attended Ex LOG SAFARI at Worthy Down Camp.

The Museum Director, Mr Simon Walmsley gave everyone a fascinating insight into the history of the RLC, its forming Corps and their predecessors whilst explaining the history of many of the artefacts on display.

It was then onto Ex LOG SAFARI trade stands which displayed some of the niche military capabilities which were supported by briefings of how they operate both in the UK and on operations abroad.  The demonstrations included Chefs from 10 Queens Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment (QOGLR), Drivers, Suppliers and Communications Specialists from 4 Regiment RLC, air dispatch capabilities from 13 Air Assault Support Regiment (AASR) and 47 Air Despatch Squadron, bomb disposal capability from the Ammunition Technical Officers (ATO) and Ammunition Technicians (AT) of 11 Explosive Ordnance & Search Regiment (11 EOD) and finally the Postal and Courier and Movement Controllers from 29 Regiment RLC.  It was also an opportunity for the Foundation members to meet with Officer Cadets who are undergoing their Phase 1 Leadership Training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS). The day would not have been complete without the usual outstanding curry lunch provided by the exceptional culinary chefs from 10 QOGLR.
